Privacy Policy

The short version: kids never have accounts, syncing is your choice, and we sell nothing to anybody.

Last updated August 14, 2026

The one-paragraph version

Choreby works two ways. With Family Sync off, everything your family creates stays on that device and we hold no copy of it. With Family Sync on, you create one parent account with an email address, and your household's game data is stored under that account so your devices stay in step. Children never have accounts either way. There are no ads, no third-party trackers, and nothing is ever sold. Everything below is the detailed version of that.

Who we are

Choreby is published by AVR Training LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Choreby iOS application and the website at https://choreby.com. If anything here is unclear, email privacy@choreby.com and a human will answer.

The two modes

Family Sync off — the default

Choreby runs entirely on your device. There is no sign-up, no password and no account. Kid profiles, quests, gem balances, rewards, the monster and your Parent Zone PIN are written to local storage on that device. None of it is transmitted to us, and we could not retrieve it if you asked.

Family Sync on — you opt in

Family Sync is what makes Choreby work across more than one device: your kid marks a quest done on their phone and it appears on your phone for approval. To do that we need somewhere shared to put it, so:

  • You create a parent account with an email address and a password. That account is yours, not your child's.
  • Your household's game data — kid display names and avatars, quests, gem balances, streaks, rewards and monster state — is stored encrypted under your account so every device you link can read it.
  • You can turn Family Sync off, and you can delete the account, which removes the household data with it.

Note the one thing that changes: with sync on, the display name you type for a child (a first name or a nickname — your choice) leaves the device. If you would rather it did not, use a nickname. Choreby never asks for a surname either way.

What we never collect, in either mode

  • No child accounts, logins or passwords. Ever.
  • No surnames, birthdays, photographs or voice recordings.
  • No location data, precise or coarse.
  • No contacts, calendar, photos or microphone access.
  • No advertising identifier and no ad networks.
  • No third-party behavioural analytics or social media SDKs.
  • No cross-app or cross-site tracking of any kind.

Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and we never see your card number, billing address or Apple ID. Apple gives us anonymous, aggregated sales reporting — units, refunds, country totals — which we cannot trace to an individual.

Your use of the App Store is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.

Crash and performance data

If you have opted in to sharing analytics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may send us aggregated crash reports and performance metrics. These describe how the software behaved, not who you are. Turn them off any time under Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements.

Children

Choreby is designed to be handed to a child, so we treat this seriously. No child ever creates or holds an account. Where a parent enables Family Sync, the household data sits under the parent's account and is controlled by the parent, who can view, change or delete it at any time. We show no advertising to anyone, run no trackers, and there is no chat, comments or any way for a stranger to contact a child through Choreby.

For the fuller explanation of how Choreby handles COPPA, the UK Age Appropriate Design Code and similar frameworks, see our kids and COPPA page.

This website

The Choreby website is a set of static pages hosted on Vercel. We set no advertising or tracking cookies. Vercel keeps standard server logs which may include IP address, browser type and requested page, for security and reliability. Those logs are retained briefly and are not used to profile you.

If a page embeds a parent testimonial hosted on YouTube or Vimeo, that video loads only after you click play. Once you do, that provider's privacy policy applies to the playback.

Who we share with

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. The third parties in the picture are Apple, which processes your subscription, Vercel, which serves this website, and the infrastructure provider that stores Family Sync data under your account. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

The exception any honest policy has to name: served with a valid legal order, we would comply with applicable law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, and to object to certain processing, under the GDPR, CCPA and CPRA or similar laws. In practice:

  • Access: everything is visible in the app's Parent Zone.
  • Correct: edit any kid, quest, reward or balance at any time.
  • Delete: remove items in the app, delete your parent account, or delete the app. See deleting your data.
  • Port: ask us and we will send you your household data in a machine-readable file.

We have no personal data to sell, so there is nothing to opt out of. To exercise any of these, email privacy@choreby.com.

Security

Family Sync data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and reachable only with your account credentials. Please use a password you do not use elsewhere. On-device data relies on your device's own protections: passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iOS app sandboxing.

The Parent Zone PIN is a second layer meant to keep a curious child out of the settings. It is a child-resistant latch, not a cryptographic safe — please do not treat it as one. Keep a device passcode on any phone a child uses.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Choreby handles information we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be described plainly in the app before they take effect, and anything that expands what we collect will be something you opt in to.
